Show notes

The first episode of the Elevatory Podcast explains why it exists. Anna had stepped away from podcasting, and one Instagram post changed her mind. This episode covers that moment, the thinking behind the show, and what listeners can expect from it.

Anna starts with the post itself — a business owner describing a situation Anna had heard hundreds of times: working harder than ever, revenue growing, and no idea whether any of it was actually profitable. The comments underneath were full of people saying the same thing. It was a clear signal that the practical, numbers-first conversation Anna has with clients privately was not happening anywhere publicly.

She then explains why she left podcasting previously. Making a show well takes real time, and at the point she stopped, that time was better spent on client work. What changed was not the time available but the scale of the gap she saw. There is a great deal of business content available to Australian owners; very little of it deals honestly with margins, cost of acquisition, or what it actually costs to grow.

The vision section sets out the mission for the show: to give established business owners the specific, unglamorous information they need to grow profitably, without the highlight-reel framing that makes everyone else's business look easier than it is. Anna commits to talking about real numbers, real results and real failures, including from her own experience and from Elevatory's client work.

She is also clear about who the show is for. It is aimed at owners who are already trading, already have customers, and are trying to work out how to grow without the business consuming them. It is not a start-a-business show, and it is not going to spend time on motivational content. Listeners looking for encouragement without specifics will find it a frustrating listen, which Anna says is deliberate.

The final section covers format and the three pillars the show will rotate through: strategy and marketing, numbers and analytics, and mindset. Some episodes will be solo deep dives, others will be conversations with guests and clients who are willing to share what their growth actually cost. Anna closes with an invitation to send in questions, because the best episodes come from problems listeners are genuinely stuck on.
